A Friday Five for Groundhog Day

Hi, reader(s?)! After a long hiatus, I am going to try posting a Friday Five. Yes, I know today is Saturday, but what can I say? It's already a busy semester?

Anyhow, this week's questions, in honor of yesterday's date, have a Groundhog Day (the movie) theme. Because I am posting late, I don't reckon the Five crowd will see it, so this one's for you, Lazygal!

Ready?

1. What's your favorite Bill Murray performance?
It's definitely Groundhog Day, which is also one of my favorite little films. But I'll admit that I haven't seen many Bill Murray movies, especially not his "serious actor" ones.

2. What's been a highlight of your winter so far?
That's easy: it's the Baker Street Irregulars Sherlock Holmes Birthday Weekend celebration, held (this year as every year) in early-mid January in New York City. I've been going for the past six years now, and it's always a great time. In fact, I don't expect anything else this winter -- or during the rest of 2018, for that matter -- to top it.

3. What's there to look forward to in the next six weeks?
There is my birthday, which I usually like whether I do something special or not (and even though it means I am a year older).

4. Too early for flapjacks?
It is never too early -- or too late -- for flapjacks these days. McDonald's now includes them in all-day breakfast, at least in my neck of the woods, and some McD's are open 24/7.

5. If someone in a bar asks to buy you a drink (and let's just say for the sake of the question you are amenable), what do you order?
Wow. I mean, wow. I do *not* have a ready answer, which could ruin my future pick-up right out of the gate. Thanks, Friday Five, for making me think about this.

My drink of choice, always, is a glass of red wine; the house cab or merlot is fine with me. But can you even *get* wine in most bars? For some reason, I'm thinking not. And if not, then I need a go-to cocktail or a highball, don't I? Hmmmm.... I haven't much cared for the whiskey, gin, or vodka drinks I've tried -- not the standard ones like sours and Collinses and martinis, anyhow. I *do* like rum drinks, but I fear that choosing rum & coke or a piña colada would come across as gauche. (I have been known to ask for a "Malibu & pineapple juice" at open-bar parties, but that's when I'm fetching my own drink.) I wonder whether brandy drinks are acceptable.

Help me, one or two readers whom I have remaining! What could I order that would be both choke-downable and grown-up-sounding?
